Before the start of IPL 2024, Sunrisers Hyderabad has made a big change by appointing Pat Cummins as the new captain. The franchise has dismissed Aiden Markram, who took the charge in the last season 2023. Cummins was bought by Hyderabad for a heavy price of Rs 20.50 crore in the mini auction held for IPL 2024. By being sold for this price, Cummins became the second most expensive player to be sold in IPL history after Mitchel Starc for 24cr.. Sunrisers Hyderabad announced the new captain through social media. Hyderabad made a post on social media and wrote, “Our new skipper Pat Cummins.”

Let us tell you that, Sunrisers Hyderabad performed extremely poor in IPL 2023 under the captaincy of Aiden Markram. Under the captaincy of Markram, the team could win only 4 out of 14 league matches. The team was at the bottom(10th) in the points table. The team management made this change after the poor performance of the last season. Cummins is one of the most successful captains at present. Under his captaincy, Cummins made Australia the champion in the World Cup 2023. So, will he be able to do the same for Hyderabad against giants Team like CSK, MI, RCB and others, it would be interesting to watch.
