Earlier, Punjab Kings captain Sam Curran won the toss and decided to bowl. Kolkata Knight Riders scored 261 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. Phil Salt returned to the pavilion after scoring the highest score of 75 runs in 37 balls. He hit 6 fours and 6 sixes in his innings. Whereas Sunil Narine played a brilliant inning of 71 runs in 32 balls. This batsman hit 9 fours and 4 sixes in his stormy innings. Venkatesh Iyer scored 39 runs on 23 balls. While KKR captain Shreyas Iyer scored 28 runs in 10 balls. Whereas, Arshdeep Singh took maximum 2 wickets for Punjab Kings. Apart from this, Sam Curran, Rahul Chahar and Harshal Patel took 1 wicket each.
Points Table has become interesting now
After this victory, Punjab Kings have reached eighth position with 8 points in 9 matches. Whereas Mumbai Indians led by Hardik Pandya has slipped to ninth position. However, despite this defeat, KKR remains at second position with 10 points in 8 matches.
