A report by ESPN Cricinfo states that BCCI has approached Gautam Gambhir to take over the post of head coach. Gambhir is currently the mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2024. It is expected that after the conclusion of the season, BCCI officials can openly discuss this topic with Gambhir. The final of IPL 2024 is to be played on May 26, while BCCI has fixed May 27 as the last date to apply for the post of coach.
