IPL2024: Rajasthan Royals did wonders on Saturday at home ground of Lucknow. Thanks to the brilliant innings of Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel, Rajasthan defeated Lucknow by 7 wickets at their home. With this victory, Rajasthan has almost confirmed its place in the playoffs.
While chasing the target of 197 runs from Lucknow, Rajasthan lost the wickets of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler and Ryan Parag till the score of 78 in the 9th over. Then it seemed that Lucknow had won the match, but Jurel (52 runs not out from 34 balls) and Samson (71 runs not out from 33 balls) made an unbeaten 121-run partnership for the fourth wicket.
Earlier, with the half-centuries of KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda and a partnership of 115 runs in 62 balls between them for the third wicket, Lucknow scored 196 runs for five wickets. However, Rajasthan won the match by scoring 199 runs for three wickets with six balls remaining. Samson hit seven fours and four sixes in his unbeaten innings of 33 balls, while Jurel hit five fours and two sixes in his unbeaten innings of 34 balls. For Lucknow, Marcus Stoinis, Amit Mishra and Yash Thakur took one wicket each.
