IPL2024: Mumbai Indians, the team captained by Hardik Pandya, had to face defeat in the eighth match of IPL 2024. Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Mumbai by 31 runs. There were many reasons behind Mumbai’s defeat in this match. The most important reason among them was poor bowling performance. Hyderabad scored 277 runs in this match.
Every Bowler got smashed except Bumrah
Captain Hardik Pandya gave a chance to bowl to Quena Mafaka. But he could not do anything special in the debut match. Mafaka gave away 66 runs in 4 overs. Piyush Chawla gave 34 runs in 2 overs. He also took 1 wicket. But this wicket could not be useful. Shams Mulani gave 33 runs in 2 overs. Coetzee gave 57 runs in 4 overs. Bowling performance was very important in Mumbai’s defeat. Its bowlers could not stop Hyderabad players from scoring runs. This is where the match slipped out of Mumbai’s hands.
According to TV cricket experts, Hardik Pandya did not use Jasprit Bumrah properly. Irfan Pathan said during the commentary that Bumrah could have been brought for bowling earlier. Bumrah started bowling from the fourth over of the innings. He gave only 5 runs in that over. Whereas Hyderabad had scored 40 runs in the last 3 overs. Bumrah was called directly in the 13th over after the fourth over. Meanwhile he did not bowl a single over in between.
The captaincy of Hardik Pandya has been ordinary to say the least. Keeping Bumrah away for too long when the carnage was on was beyond my understanding.

So, Mumbai lost two back to back matches due to poor captaincy by Hardik Pandya. In the last match against GT he came to bat after Tim David, due to which Team lost a easy won match and in yesterday match He could’nt use his bowlers properly specially Jasprit Bumrah with the new ball.
